Supporting the students of Neale-Wade Academy sits at the heart of our Association’s mission. Through our discretionary grants, we are able to assist individual students during their time at the Academy and as they take their first steps into further education or apprenticeships. Over the past decade, more than thirty students have received financial support from us. This has included help with transport to interviews, the purchase of essential digital equipment, and contributions towards overseas volunteering opportunities.
Information on Grants
Students who would like to learn more about our grants, or who wish to make an application, can contact Sixth Form Administrator Sharna Ayres at Neale-Wade Academy (Sayres@neale-wade.org).
We also encourage applications from Heads of Department and Sports Coaches who are seeking support for projects that the Academy is unable to fully fund.
Remembrance
Each November, the Association accepts the Neale‑Wade Academy’s invitation to attend the Remembrance Assembly. Committee members lay a wreath beneath the plaque honouring former students and staff who lost their lives in both World Wars and in more recent conflicts.
The plaque now displayed in the Peter Hewitt Hall was originally located at the former March Grammar School. It was the wish to remember fallen classmates that led to the creation of our original organisation, the March Grammar School Old Boys’ Association.
Additional memorial plaques have since been placed in St Wendreda’s Church in March, at the Neale‑Wade school, and in St George’s Memorial Church in Ypres, Belgium.
In 2020, a dedicated memorial plaque was installed at the school honouring former pupils of Hereward School who lost their lives in conflicts. This addition ensures that their names and stories remain part of our shared heritage, standing alongside the wider commemorations held by the Association and the school community.
Please note that the Association does not hold records of former pupils or staff of the school. March Museum is an excellent source for historical information and may be able to assist with such enquiries.
